Mindfulness Teacher Training in the U.S. - FAQs

Graduation from the course will give you certification from Mindfulness Training Institute, endorsed by your teachers, Mark Coleman and Martin Aylward, to lead classes and courses in mindfulness, and integrate mindfulness in your professional work with clients, groups and organizations.
Yes. 12 credits are available during each module of the training.

Following the teacher training, clinicians will be better able to:
1) Incorporate mindfulness meditation and its related disciplines in ways useful for clients;
2) Demonstrate methodology and tools for embodying mindfulness while facilitating others;
3) Apply the principles of equanimity and compassion for meeting stress, pain and burnout with kindness and wisdom;
4) Describe how habitual reactions lead to chronic stress;
5) Describe how mindfulness will help interactions and communications with patients, colleagues, and clients;
6) Describe basic group facilitation concerns and incorporate mindfulness based solutions when working with clients;
7) Apply mindfulness principles and practices to working with others in a clinical setting and other environments; and
8) Practice teaching, giving, and receiving feedback for basic introductory mindfulness meditations.
CEs for psychologists are provided by the Spiritual Competency Resource Center which is co-sponsoring this program. Spiritual Competency Resource Center is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Spiritual Competency Resource Center maintains responsibility for theprogram and its content. SCRC is a California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN Provider CEP10318) for licensed nurses in California through the cosponsorship of the Institute of Noetic Sciences. California Board of Behavioral Sciences accepts CE credits for license renewal by LCSWs and MFTs for programs from approved sponsors of CE by the American Psychological Association.

Quite a bit! We want to ensure that you receive the most instruction possible, so we have scheduled a number of online meetings, one-on-one time with a course teacher, written assignments, and group activities to help deepen your knowledge and skill level.

Cost – The price for the 2018-2019 training is $5,925. This does not include travel, room or board for the in-person training sessions.

Payment plans are available upon request.

Scholarships are not offered, except in extreme circumstances, but we do offer a payment plan for those who qualify for the course. Please email Leslie at leslie@mindfulnesstraininginistute.com for details.
The course costs includes all administration fees, tuition fees and participation in the online meetings. It does not include books, travel costs, food, or accommodations.

The initial deposit is nonrefundable. 75% of paid balance is refundable until March 1, 2018. 50% of paid balance is refundable until May 1, 2018. 25% of paid balance is refundable until July 1, 2018. There will be no refunds after September 1, 2018.
